16 Month Bandiversary

Tuesday the 19th was my 16 month bandiversary. I think the recent fill has actually done something! A first I had to adjust to the tightness and now I think I've got it down. I had actually lost five pounds but unfortunately gained it all back. Now I'm back on the downward slide again. I think I've lost about three pounds. I'm not too far from being under 200 pounds. Although it's not far off, it seems so far away! Hopefully by next month I will be a little bit closer. Anyway, here are my 16 month pictures.

15 Month Pictures

Here are my 15 month pictures. Obviously not much of a change since I just took the 14 month pictures a week or two ago. I guess I could use the pictures to show off my new clothes! Anyway, here you go...

So, I had my latest fill a couple of weeks ago and it has been a learning experience all over again. It's not often that I vomit on water or coffee, but that has happened a couple of times. I am definitely eating less. Last week my mom, my sister and I went out to eat and I had a total of 5 bites before I was done. Of course I did end up PBing on those 5 bites. That has happened a number of times too. I don't think I am tooooo tight. I think I am probably just right, but I have to be very careful about how quickly and/or what I eat. Anywho, I think I've lost a few pounds since the fill. I hope that keep up!

15 Month Bandiversary and a Fill!

I meant to post this last week. Obviously I'm a little late as usual. I will work on the photos for the next day or so...

Sunday the 19th was my 15 month bandiversary. I also just got a fill for the first time in almost a year! I got a .3 cc fill and now I am at a total of 7.8 ccs. I hadn't lost any weight in the past three months and was starting to snack again. So, I figured it was time to get a teeny tiny fill. I really hope this does the trick. I'm sure it will definitely jump start something since I am having to be on liquids for a few days. Gosh, it's been so long since I have had to do that.  I'm going to have to get some more Click because I am running desperately low and I will be drinking it more often the next few days. Got to get some more Silk too! I also went to Chili's after my appointment and got some of my favorite chicken enchilada soup. Yum!

I also wanted to give a shout out to Vicky. She just had gastric bypass on Thursday. I wish her all the best and success with her surgery!

14 Month Bandiversary

Sorry for the extremely late post.  Thursday the 19th of May was my 14 month bandiversary. Absolutely no weight loss since last month nor the month before. This is quite the plateau. I'm kind of considering getting a teensy tiny fill. Although I'm terribly afraid I won't be able to keep anything down. But I suppose it's worth a shot. I have an appointment scheduled next week. I'll be back again at the end of next week with my 15 month pictures and an update on my appointment with my surgeon.

Anyway, here are my 14 month pictures. Not much different than last month or the month before.

13 Month Bandiversary

I am a bit late on my 13 month bandiversary post. It was on the 19th of April. Nothing much has changed since last month. I haven't lost any weight, but I haven't gained any either. Here are my 13 month pictures. As you can see my Bruno wanted to be in all of my pictures.

Mighty Texas Dog Walk 5K

This past Saturday I did the Mighty Texas Dog Walk 5K with a couple of girlfriends from work. The walk supported the Texas Hearing and Service Dogs, who provide service dogs free of charge to people with disabilities. I have done this walk a few times in years past. I love seeing all of the dogs and the money goes to a good cause. And there are tons of freebies too. The whole point of the race is to raise money for the organization as well as try to set a world record for the largest number of dogs being walked. We won several years ago, but the Brits have been winning for a few years now.

My dog, Bruno is getting up in years (he's the ripe young age of 12) and even a few years ago he couldn't finish the whole walk and I had to carry him for most of the walk. I have been wanting to do this walk for a while now, so Bruno asked Santa Claus for a stroller this past Christmas. Well, Santa came through! I never thought I would be one of "those" people who put their dogs in strollers, but apparently I am. He would have never made it otherwise. So, Bruno had quite the life, getting pushed around for 3 miles.

I did the 5K with much more ease than those in years past. My feet didn't hurt very much, if at all. Also, it didn't even seem like it was a 5K. It didn't seem so long. I suppose losing a crapload of weight makes it a lot easier!

Here are some pictures from the walk-

One Year Bandiversary!

My one year bandiversary was on Saturday! In the past year since my surgery I have managed to lose about 125 pounds and drop 4-5 pant sizes and about 3 top sizes. My feet have also shrunk about a size or so.

I can do a lot more than I used to be able to do. I am definitely more comfortable in my skin (well, my loose skin).  I have batwings like nobody's business now. I seriously look like I could take off and fly! Luckily my belly doesn't look too bad. The girls are a little lower nowadays too. Oh well, I'm better off than I was. Perhaps someday I will get some work done.

Here are my one year pictures-

I had a check up with my surgeon the other day too. I did much better this past month, losing 7 pounds rather than 2 pounds the month before. He was very pleased with my progress. He mentioned that one year ago he wrote my target weight as 219. That's what I weighed in at his office that day (his scale shows a good 2-3 pounds more than mine). I asked him if that's what he thought I would lose in a year and he said that he thought that was the weight I was going to stay at (the best I could do). And he was very impressed that I was able to reach that weight in one year.

In other news... I have a neck! Look at it! You can see muscles and things! It's amazing. I have never had that before!

One Year Ago Today

One year ago today I started my pre-op diet. I was having surgery in 18 days and had to start a high protein, low carb diet in order to shrink my liver so that it would not be troublesome for my surgeon when he got in there to do his business.  On this day I weighed 340 pounds. I know, it's craziness. I can't believe I ever weighed that much. At the time I didn't think I looked like I weighed that much. But oh, was I wrong. Looking back now I totally see it. So, exactly one year ago today I weighed 121 pounds heavier. (I'm now 219 as of this morning.) Holy crap! I absolutely cannot believe that I have lost that much that quickly. I would have never imagined. I thought weight loss with the Lap Band would be a lot slower. I would have expected losing this much this quickly with the Gastric Bypass surgery. In 18 days I will have my one year bandiversary. But since I actually started my weight loss journey on this day one year ago I will say that I have lost 121 pounds in exactly one year!

Oh, I started physical therapy yesterday for my feet. That was interesting. I found out that my feet are freakish. I never knew that I couldn't bend and flex my feet and toes to the extent that other people can. I even made two of the physical therapists take off their shoes and show me how far they could bend and flex their feet. Then they solidified the fact that my feet are freakish. Who knew? So, they're working on making some muscles and tissues and whatnot come back to life, so that I can use them the way I'm supposed to. They're also using an ultrasound machine to break up the scar tissue in the lumps on the bottom of my feet, or as I so lovingly call them my "lady lumps." Apparently I walk funny, or rather, incorrectly. And they're not sure if that caused the plantar fasciitis or whether the plantar fasciitis caused me to compensate for the pain by walking funny. I think from the two physical therapists' reactions I might just be the worst case they've ever seen. I've always said that if it can happen to anyone, it can happen to me!

11 Month Bandiversary

My 11 month bandiversary was on Saturday. I am down approximately 119 pounds (at least according to my scale). I can hardly believe it's been 11 months already. Pretty soon it will be one year!

I also went to my surgeon the other day. I hadn't lost much weight since the last time I saw him a month ago. More than likely that's because of the foot surgery a month ago.

On the foot note... my feet are kind of getting better. I gave up on using crutches after a few days and then just walked around in my moon boots for two weeks. I finally got the stitches out and am back to wearing normal shoes. I had a check up with my surgeon on Monday and I asked her when my feet were going to stop hurting. She looked at me kind of funny. I said that my feet still hurt. She said that most people's feet don't hurt by this time after surgery. I also mentioned that I feel a knot on the bottom of both of my feet, right above my heels. She felt it and thought that the plantar fascia that she cut may have rolled up. What? Seriously? Can't I catch a break here? Now I have to start going to physical therapy to unroll the fascia or something of that nature. As long as it makes me better. Whatever. I start that fun next week.

Anywho... here are my 11 month pictures.
